Awards and Achivements

  • Prof. Prasanna Kumar Rout,HoD of BS & H was conferred with the Doctorate Degree(Ph.D) from SoA University for his thesis entitled“Study on Some Problem of Viscous and Viscoelastic Fluids”
  • Prof. Bidyut Prava Nayak, faculty, Physics has also been awarded with her Ph.D. degree from SoA University for her thesis on “Investigations beyond the Standard Model: Left Right Gauge Symmetry, Neutrino, Oscillation and Grand Unification.
  • Sailinkan Moahanty of Kalam House was the winner of the S -Quiz-My Brain Quiz Competition
  • Prof. Bikram Keshari Rout became one of the toppers of the NPTEL Exam- “Technical English for Engineers” in India with 87% marks in July-December Session.
  • Prof. Snigdha Tripathy & Prof.Pranati Mishra broke the 90% barrier to win the Gold Medal in NPTEL Exam- “Enhancing Soft Skills & Personality in January- April 2019 Session.
  • Dr. Kharabela Swain’s paper entitled “A study on MHD nano-fluid flow and heat transfer with convective" bagged the 1 st prize in Paper Presentation Competition at SoA University in 2018-2019.
  • Prof. Bikram Keshari Rout’s research paper, “Seamus Heaney’s Poetics of Articulation: A Fenollosan-cum-Gumilyovian Study” got the 3 rd Best Paper Presentation Award in the International Conference on “English Studies across and Beyond Borders”, held at Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jalandhar from 6th -8th March,2019.
  • Prof. Bikram Keshari Rout received the PPG Global International Award in appreciation of Excellence in Professional Performance in the field of Education from a Chennai based Organisation.
  • Prof. Bikram Keshari Rout received the “Emerging Star of the Year” award on behalf of GIFT by Cambridge Assessment English for the “Best Preparation Centre” for facilitating training and conducting BEC Prelims & Vantage Exams at GIFT for the year 2019-20.

EXPLOITS IN NPTEL EXAMS
The Dept. of BS & H was at the fore front of the NPTEL Exams that was held in the April 2019 Session with two of our faculty of English breaking the 90% barrier:

Prof. Snigdha Tripathy – scored 93% and Prof. Pranati Mishra- scored 92% to receive the Gold Medal in “Enhancing Soft Skills & Personality” in NPTEL Exam initiated by MHRD, Govt. of India in Jan-April 2019 Session.

Prof. Bikram Keshari Rout became one of the five toppers of India in “Technical English For Engineers” with 87% of marks in July-December-2019 Session.

WORKSHOPS/ SEMINARS/CONFERENCES
1. Prof. B. K. Rout attended a three-day International Conference on “English Studies Across And Beyond Borders” held from 6th March to 8th March 2019 at Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jalandhar.

2. Prof. B.K.Rout attended a one-day "FDP on Academic Leadership" The Keystone for “Excellence in Professional Education & Modern Techniques of Andragogy” organized by IBS, Bhubaneswar on 31-August 2019 at The Presidency, BBSR.
