The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2007. It aims at producing qualified engineers in the areas of electrical machine, power electronics, control system, power system, and instrumentation. The field of Electrical and electronics is advancing at a very rapid pace. Power electronics has taken the center stage in every area be it power systems, control systems, power quality, etc. The department is well equipped with a group of highly qualified and dynamic teachers. It boasts of laboratory facility to be one of the best in the state. The students are encouraged and motivated to take up challenging projects. Summer training, industrial visit and projects are carefully planned for the students to remain updated with the technology trend. Seminars and short courses are regularly organized to update the students with the latest in the education and industry trends.


Why Electrical Engineering?

Electrical engineering jobs represent over 25% of all available jobs in engineering! In India 30 % of the government jobs are from Electrical Engineering sector. A EEE student can enter in to the job market of Computer engineering, Electronics & communication engineering, Instrumentation engineering, control engineering, robotics, mechanical engineering, VHDL, VLSI. But any branch of other engineering student can not enter in to the Electrical Engineering job market.

  • Team Health Care  Ravi Prakash Gupta, Ruchika Rajguru, SK Abdul Nasir, Sonal Kumari (4th year CSE) and Shammi Kumar Gupta (3rd year CSE) were awarded by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon'ble Minister of Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Government of India at #OpenGovDataHack, a nationwide challenge, held under the aegis of 'National Informatics Centre' on 1st November 2018, in New Delhi.
  • Team BitCoders  mentored by Dr. Sujit Kumar Panda and Soumya Siddhanta Lenka (8th sem, CSE) lead by team leader Ravi Prakash Gupta and team members Shailesh Kumar, Ruchika Rajguru, Hemant Kumar, Shammi Kumar Gupta, Santosh Kumar have bagged 1st prize in the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathhon 2017 at Guwahati.
  • Dhiraj Kumar Sahoo, Badri Narayan Sahoo, Ansuman Sahoo, Sabeha Naaz, DibyaJyoti Mahanta  got 2nd prize in "National Robotics Championship by RoboFeast-2017, Cognizance IIT Roorkee" held at IIT Roorkee.
  • Abhisekh Panda, Suraj Biswas, Mohit Kumar, Vikash kumar, Serajul Haque, Abinaba Hazra  got 3rd prize in "National Robotics Championship by RoboFeast-2017, Cognizance IIT Roorkee" held at IIT Roorkee.
  • 3rd semester student Jagdish Mohanty  bagged one gold medal and two silver medals in All Odisha Taekwondo Championship held at Puri from 4th November 2016 to 6th November 2016. He has also been awarded with 18 national championship medals till date. He is also a black belt holder from Korea.
