2018-19	Department of Computer Science & Engineering of GIFT, Bhubaneswar has organized on 26-27th October 2018 a two days International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Data Analytics (ICCIDA-2018) with partnering with Springer and Computer Society of India (CSI) .Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest,Prof. Sheng Lung Peng from National Dong(HWA) University,Taiwan deliberated on the Computational Intelligence and Data Analytics.More than 70 participants including Scientists, Professors and researhers from all across India and countries like China, Singapore and Taiwan attended the two-days conference. Mr.Monaj Panda, centre head ,TCS graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
2018-19	The BIT CODERS TEAM of GIFT comprising of members Ravi Prakash Gupta, Team Leader, Ruchika Rajguru, Sk Abdul Nasir, Shammi Kumar Gupta, Hemant Kumar, Santosh Kumar represented our College Smart India Hackathon 2018, on 30-31st March 2018, which was a Pan India 36 hour nonstop Digital Programming Competition. The participating teams simultaneously competed from across 25 locations in India to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time challenges faced by the nation. Out of a total of 1,20,000 participants, 58 teams were selected for the finals. The Finals were held at NIET, Noida. OUR BIT CODERS TEAM made it through to the top 10 and then finally finished at 4th in all India. They were ably rewarded with a cash prize of 10,000/-. 2018-19	SMART BIT HACK-18 organised by Computer Science Department, GIFT, BBSR on 25-26 th September 2018. Many Participants from different Engineering Colleges in and outside of Odisha State showed their own Innovative computer generated solutions for different real life problems faced by the society. This Occasion was graced by the presence of Dr R N Behera , Sr. Technical Director, NIC Bhubaneswar and Mr. Manas Patnaik, founder of Anthem Global Group of Institutions
2018-19	Dr. SachiNandanMohanty CSE,GIFT , BBSR received " The Best Researcher Award from MSME minister Sri Prafulla Samal on 15.9.18 in Odisha Technological Conclave -2018
2017-18	“Outstanding faculty award in Engineering“ to Dr. SachiNandanMohanty, CSE, GIFT , BBSR by IIT Chennai Venus International foundation for his outstanding achievement in Computer science. Received award from UAE Prof. Dr. Thoroia Slovasi and Prof. Dr. Md. Nizameb Raheman from Malaysia University of Kebongsamon 10th July 2017
2017-18	Open Gov Data Hack National Challenge Organised by NIC, IAMAI in collaboration with Startup India as a part of the Start-up Eco- system Development Program. Union Minister for Electronics and IT and Law & Justice, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad felicitated the students of GIFT as the winners with cash prize and citations on the occasion of Open Gov Data Hack National Challenge at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 01 Nov.2017 Speaking on the occasion as Guest of Honour, Shri Ajay Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT lauded the efforts of the technocrats for giving a vent to their ideas for creating a better tomorrow.
