The programme is designed to create Excellent Technocrats , innovators and researchers who are introduced to core courses that include Engineering Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Solids, Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machineries, Basic Manufacturing, Design of Machine components, Design of Machine Elements, Kinematics and Dynamics of machines, Modern Manufacturing Processes, Heat Transfer etc. Mechanical Workshops are specially designed for courses intended to give students hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and principles of operation of machineries. Advanced courses and electives in higher semesters, enable students to specialize in Mechanical Measurements, Mechatronics,, CIM,CAD/CAM, Robotics & Automation etc other streams.

Activities Beyond the Curriculum
- In order to keep the students acquainted with the changing scenarios of the industries in the fields of manufacturing, design and quality control and make them industry ready, the department organizes software courses beyond their academic curriculum like CAD, Advanced CAD, CAM, CATIA/CREO etc by in-house faculties and also by inviting experts from outside.
- Besides, the department conducts regular seminars and workshops by inviting industry experts and academia to enlighten the students on the latest development in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
- Regular visits to different industries like, NALCO, SAIL, OHPC, HAL, BHEL, OCL INDIA LTD, INDIAN RAILWAY (CRW, Bhubaneswar) etc to allow the students comprehend the theory well by getting exposures to various industrial activities.
