What if you don’t know the answer to a question in a job
interview?
If you don't know, you don't know. So
I will say admit it in as many words but...
-If it is a factual question and you really have no clue,
admit it.
But follow it with a guess so that you can show them your
skills.
-If it is a problem-solving question, admit your ignorance.
But share a possible approach that you might use, especially extending what you
already know.
-If it is a behavioral question and you don't know if you
will be able to give a right answer, better to be honest and share the context
behind the answer too.
As long as you show willingness to learn more or explore further,
you should be do well.
