As we step into the college, we get to know about a lot of advanced technology i.e. Artificial Intelligence, Cryptocurrency, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, etc. These are some of the buzzwords which are exploded in popularity among the freshers, capturing the mind of the tech-enthusiasts around the world.
When I started my academics in Computer Science Engineering, I only knew about one domain and that was Android App Development. As I came from ICSE background, I was more proficient in Java, rather than any other programming language. So, I decided to take a course on Android Studio to learn how we can design an application. But, things never turned the way I wanted. I completed the course, but there was something that was missing. Even if I got the completion certificate, I was not confident about if I can develop an application or not. And here's, where 'Internship' plays a big role. Just having a bunch of certificates is not enough. Work experience is as valuable as our degree. So, I searched for every website where I can find an Internship to enhance my skills. Well, luckily during that time I used to post stories on my social media about the things I am interested in like Android, Web, AI, etc. One of my seniors, who was in the 3rd year of his academics saw my status and he was so impressed that he contacted me and asked if I can join their team for an internship in web development in the next 7 days. I accepted the offer and soon started working on a project. While I was just a fresher so I struggled to do every single task but it's normal. The only thing that mattered was persistence. Finally, I developed a dynamic working website for a company called the Centre for Advanced Computer Learning and Development (CACLD). The directors were so impressed that they referred me for the next project. Although I worked in the company, our college Gandhi Institute for Technology (GIFT) always helped us with every sort of thing. I got a chance to be a trainer in Coding Club which was organized by the college. They also gave a lot of exposure to various topics like Entrepreneurship, Industry Readiness, Future Opportunities, etc. Currently, I am working as a paid Web Development Intern at Gandhi Institute for Technology (GIFT) for a tenure of 2 months. The experience is much grateful over here. The teachers are very supportive whenever I stumble across any problem during my internship. During this period I've to work on the chatbot system of my college, and I also have the flexibility to work according to my schedule.
Overall, what I wanted to conclude through my story is -
Learn. Apply. Repeat!
